How it Works

Upload your Primavera P6 (XER) file
Select the target P6 version you want to switch to
Click "Switch Version"
Your file will begin processing immediately
Download the modified file when processing is complete
Import the modified file into your target P6 version and verify all data is intact

Version Mismatch: When you're receiving "incompatible version" errors during import.
Older/Newer Versions: When you need to open a schedule created in a newer version of P6 in an older version (or vice versa).

This is a workaround, not a converter: This tool only changes the version number in the file header, not the actual file structure or features.
Compatibility issues may persist: If your file uses features that don't exist in the target version, you may still encounter problems when importing.
Data verification is essential: Always check your schedule after importing to ensure all activities, relationships, constraints, and other elements have transferred correctly.
Best for minor version changes: This approach works better for small version differences rather than major version jumps.
Keep your original file: Always maintain a backup of your original XER file before making any changes.

Official Export: When possible, using P6's built-in "Export to earlier version" feature is more reliable.
XML Format: For significant version differences, exporting to XML format might provide better results.
